The short version

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser; local storage is a similar browser feature without an expiry sent to servers. Both let a site remember things between pages and visits — some of it necessary (keeping you signed in), some of it optional (measuring traffic).

What this site uses

1. Strictly necessary (always on)

• Language choice — remembers whether you read the site in English, Hindi, or Marathi.
• Member session — keeps you signed in if you join or sign in with Google.
• Dismissed notices — remembers that you closed the cookie card, announcement banners, and similar one-time notices, so they stop reappearing.
• Anonymous visitor ID — a random identifier used for rate limiting and abuse prevention, described in the Privacy Policy.

These do not track you across other websites and are not shared with advertisers. They are the plumbing.

2. Analytics — Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics tells us which pages are read, on what devices, and how the site performs, so we know what to fix and what to write more of. With your consent it sets cookies (such as _ga) that persist for up to about 13 months. Without your consent the tag runs in cookieless “consent mode” — aggregate pings only, no cookies, no persistent identifier.

3. Advertising measurement — Google Ads

A Google Ads tag measures whether visits arrive from any promotion we run and supports remarketing. It follows exactly the same consent rule as analytics: no consent, no advertising cookies.

4. Embedded content

• YouTube— videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which avoids advertising cookies until you press play. Once you interact, YouTube’s own cookie policy applies.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — the anti-spam check on forms may set its own functional cookie while verifying that you are human. It exists to protect the forms, not to profile you.

Your choice, and how to change it

The first time you visit, a cookie card offers Accept or Essential only. Your choice is stored in your browser and applied to the Google tags through Google Consent Mode. Until you choose, the tags are treated as declined.

• To change your mind:clear this site’s data in your browser settings (usually under Privacy → Site settings → View site data) — the cookie card will return on your next visit.
• Browser controls: every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies per site.
• Google-level controls: the Google Analytics opt-out add-on and your Google Ads settings work independently of this site.

Blocking every cookie will not break reading the site — articles are plain pages. Signing in and forms need the essential storage above.

What we do not do

• No selling or renting of your data — to anyone, ever.
• No third-party ad networks beyond the Google tags described above.
• No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking of our own.

Changes

If we add a new category of cookies — say, a new embed provider — this page and the Privacy Policy will be updated first, and the consent card will apply to it.
