About the project

The Cockroach Janta Party website at thecockroachjantaparty.org.in (TCJP): Independent satirical commentary website — satire and civic commentary only; not the official Cockroach Janta Party and not affiliated with the movement. It is not operated by the movement or its founder, and is not registered with the Election Commission of India.

The site uses humour, editorial writing, and creative storytelling to encourage public discussion about Indian politics, unemployment, and the state of democratic institutions. It is published on the web for entertainment, commentary, education, and community participation on this website only.

The party format — a name, a manifesto, membership, a leader on a jeep — is the vehicle for the commentary, not a claim to electoral office. The seriousness of the analysis is real; the organisational trappings are a creative device.

This is not the official Cockroach Janta Party website

This domain — thecockroachjantaparty.org.in — is an independent satirical commentary website about the movement. It is not cockroachjantaparty.org and is not maintained by Abhijeet Dipke, the movement’s spokespersons, or anyone authorised to speak for the Cockroach Janta Party.

Nothing published here is an official statement of the movement. Membership, cards, and community features on this site are symbolic participation on this website only — they do not enrol you in the CJP movement and confer no standing with it.

For official announcements, movement membership, and press contacts, go to the official movement at cockroachjantaparty.org.

Official movement website: cockroachjantaparty.org.

Compliance with Indian law

This website is operated from India and is intended to comply with applicable Indian law. We do not solicit votes, collect election funds, or impersonate a registered political party. Community content is moderated; unlawful material is removed; and grievances are handled through the channel described on the Legal & Transparency page. Official movement contact is contact@cockroachjantaparty.org — that inbox is not this website’s grievance channel.

  • Constitution of India. Editorial and satirical content is published as commentary protected under Article 19(1)(a), subject to the reasonable restrictions in Article 19(2). We do not publish content that incites violence, promotes hatred, or is obscene beyond the scope of fair comment.
  • Information Technology Act, 2000. We act as an intermediary for user-generated content (chat, Voice posts, messages). Unlawful content is removed on notice or when identified. Grievance redressal follows the timelines on our Legal & Transparency page.
  • IT Rules, 2021 (Intermediary Guidelines). A grievance officer is reachable at contact@thecockroachjantaparty.org.in with GRIEVANCE in the subject line. We acknowledge within 48 hours and aim to resolve within 15 days.
  • Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Personal data is processed on lawful bases set out in the Privacy Policy. You may access, correct, or erase your data, and withdraw consent where applicable.
  • Representation of the People Act, 1951 & Election Commission norms. This site is not a registered political party, does not field candidates, and does not accept political or election contributions. Payments on the Support the Developer page fund website hosting only.
  • Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Voluntary support payments are described accurately on the Support Policy and Refund Policy pages. Misleading claims about what a payment buys are not permitted.

If you believe anything on this site violates Indian law, email contact@thecockroachjantaparty.org.in with GRIEVANCE in the subject line. We take lawful takedown requests seriously. For the official Cockroach Janta Party movement (not this website), write to contact@cockroachjantaparty.org.

Satire notice

Much of this site is satire. Some of it is sincere. The five demands and the essays are written to inform; the ceremonial “party” apparatus is deliberately self-mocking. We keep a dedicated page that draws the line between the two in detail.

Read the full breakdown on the Satire Disclaimer page.

Political independence

This website is not a registered political party, is not registered with the Election Commission of India, and is not the official Cockroach Janta Party website (see above).

  • This website does not contest elections and fields no candidates.
  • It is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by the Cockroach Janta Party movement, any registered political party, election candidate, or campaign.
  • It accepts no political funding, election funding, or corporate influence.

This website is not maintained by, authorised by, or affiliated with any registered political party, election candidate, or campaign. Any resemblance to a real party is part of the commentary.

Membership & members

“Membership” on this site is symbolic and is for participation in this independent community project only. Signing up means a person has chosen to receive updates and take part in discussions. It does not create membership of any political organisation, confer voting rights, or imply political affiliation.

Where the site shows a member count, that number reflects people who have signed up on the site. It is a community figure, not an electoral roll.

Funding & transparency

This website is independently funded through voluntary developer support. We do not accept political funding, election funding, or corporate influence over editorial decisions.

Voluntary payments cover the cost of hosting and maintaining the website and go to the independent developer. Financial details, the receiver, and a disclosed-costs ledger are on the Support the Developer page, along with the Support Policy and Refund Policy. These are not political donations, election contributions, or charitable donations.

The full picture — ownership, funding sources, infrastructure, and editorial independence — is on the dedicated Transparency page.

Editorial policy

Opinions expressed on this website are editorial content intended for discussion, commentary, satire, or public education. They do not represent the official position of any political organisation.

How to read our content

Content on this site falls into three registers, and we hold ourselves to a different standard for each:

  • Factual claims. Where an essay cites a specific incident, statistic, or action by a public figure, that citation is intended to be accurate and grounded in the public record. Get it wrong and we correct it.
  • Opinion and commentary.Judgements, criticism, and analysis are the project's editorial views, offered as fair comment on matters of public interest — they are evaluations, not assertions of undisclosed fact.
  • Satire. Exaggeration, invented ceremony, and parody — the party staging, slogans, and hyperbole — are creative devices. A reasonable reader is not meant to take them as statements of fact. The Satire Disclaimer draws this line item by item.

Corrections

If you believe a specific factual claim is inaccurate — especially if you are a named public figure — write to info@thecockroachjantaparty.org.in identifying the passage and the correction. We will review it and, where substantiated, correct the passage and credit the source.

The full standard — sourcing, satire rules, AI review, and the corrections timeline — is in the dedicated Editorial Policy.

AI content disclosure

Some content, artwork, or translations on this site may be assisted by AI tools. AI-assisted material is reviewed by a human before publication. Editorial responsibility for what appears on the site rests with the project, not with any tool.

Community guidelines & reporting

Parts of the site let members post messages, raise issues, or send content. To keep those spaces usable, some simple rules apply.

Community guidelines

  • No harassment, hate speech, threats, or targeting of private individuals.
  • No unlawful content, spam, scams, or impersonation.
  • No doxxing or sharing of others' private information.
  • Keep it in the spirit of good-faith civic debate — argue the point, not the person.

Submissions that are abusive, unlawful, or violate these guidelines may be moderated or removed, and accounts may be restricted. Moderation decisions are made by the project team.

Report inappropriate content

To report a message, post, or submission, use the in-page report control where available, or email contact@thecockroachjantaparty.org.in with a link or description. We review reports and remove content that breaks these guidelines or the law.

The complete rules — scope, enforcement, reporting, and appeals — are in the dedicated Community Guidelines. For conduct at in-person gatherings, see the Peaceful Protest Guidelines.

Unless otherwise stated, all original text, graphics, branding, and website design are © The Cockroach Janta Party. You may share and quote material with attribution and a link back; you may not republish substantial portions or misuse the branding to imply endorsement.

Third-party assets and licences

  • Typefaces (Bowlby One, Inter, Oswald, Permanent Marker, Noto Serif Devanagari) are used under the SIL Open Font License via Google Fonts, self-hosted at build time.
  • Interface icons are from Lucide (ISC licence); social-network brand glyphs are from the Simple Icons set (CC0), with each mark remaining the trademark of its network.
  • Posters and illustrations are original works of the project; some are produced with AI assistance and reviewed before publication (see AI content disclosure).
  • Videoshosted by the site are the project's own or used with permission; embedded YouTube videos remain the property of their creators and are played from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode.

If you believe content on this site infringes your rights, contact contact@thecockroachjantaparty.org.in with the URL, proof of ownership, and the specific material at issue, and we will review it promptly and remove infringing material where the claim is substantiated.

Licences, permitted use, and the takedown procedure are set out in full on the dedicated Copyright & Permissions page.

Cookies & tracking

This site uses cookies and similar technologies. A consent card offers Accept or Essential only on your first visit; until you accept, the Google tags run cookieless. You can also control or block cookies in your browser settings.

  • Strictly necessary. Local storage and a session cookie remember your language choice, whether you have dismissed notices, and, if you sign in, keep you logged in. The site does not work properly without these.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics helps us understand traffic and performance. It sets cookies and processes usage data.
  • Advertising / measurement. Google Ads tags measure conversions and support remarketing.
  • Embedded content. Video embeds (YouTube, in privacy-enhanced mode) and the Cloudflare Turnstile anti-spam widget may set their own cookies when you interact with them.

The full breakdown — every category, durations, and how to change your choice — is in the dedicated Cookie Policy. See also our Privacy Policy.

Privacy & terms

How we handle personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy. The rules for using the site are in the Terms of Use. By using the site you agree to those terms.

Grievance redressal

One channel handles complaints of every kind — privacy requests under the DPDP Act, reports of unlawful or infringing content, defamation concerns, and takedown requests.

  • Grievance contact: Shivam Panchal (operator), contact@thecockroachjantaparty.org.in — put GRIEVANCE in the subject line.
  • Timelines: we aim to acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within 15 days of receipt.
  • What to include: the URL or content at issue, what is wrong with it, and how to reach you.

For personal-data matters, if you are unsatisfied with our response you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India as provided by the DPDP Act. See also the Privacy Policy.

Grievance Officer (IT Rules, 2021)

In compliance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the following person is designated as the Grievance Officer for this website:

  • Name: Shivam Panchal
  • Role: Grievance Officer (operator of this website)
  • Email: contact@thecockroachjantaparty.org.in — subject line GRIEVANCE
  • Address: Haryana India
  • Country: India
  • No physical office open to the public. Grievances are handled primarily by email; postal mail may be addressed to the Grievance Officer at the locality below.
  • Response: acknowledgement within 48 hours; resolution within 15 days where feasible.

Security & responsible disclosure

The site is served over HTTPS with a strict Content-Security-Policy and modern security headers, and stores IP addresses only as salted hashes. If you find a vulnerability, we want to hear about it — privately, before anyone else does.

  • Report it: email contact@thecockroachjantaparty.org.in with SECURITY in the subject line, or use the machine-readable contact at /.well-known/security.txt. We acknowledge within 48 hours.
  • Good-faith research is welcome:we will not pursue legal action over research that stays within scope — no accessing or exfiltrating other people's data, no denial-of-service testing, no social engineering, and no public disclosure before a fix ships.
  • What we do: confirm, fix, and credit you if you would like credit. This is an unfunded project — gratitude is the bounty programme.

Accessibility

We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible. We aim to follow common accessibility practices — semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, visible focus states, alt text on meaningful images, and sufficient colour contrast — and to keep improving.

If you hit an accessibility barrier, tell us at contact@thecockroachjantaparty.org.in with the page and the problem, and we will do our best to fix it and offer the information another way. The full Accessibility Statement covers our target standard and known limitations.

Who operates this site

This website is operated by Shivam Panchal, an independent developer, as an independent personal project. It is not operated by any company, registered political party, trust, or NGO.
