A BJP loving casteist, understaffed and unsafe school
P.S. Senior Secondary School proudly calls itself "secular" while having Pre-KG children perform devotional dances before images of Hindu deities and making students participate in religious ceremonies that somehow never suffer from the budget constraints affecting actual education. The school is chronically understaffed when it comes to teaching, but apparently not when it comes to organizing religious events.
More concerning are the long-standing allegations regarding the Correspondent and certain male teachers behaving inappropriately with female students. Despite repeated complaints and widespread awareness among students, those in positions of authority remain exactly where they have always been. The institution's reputation survives almost entirely on the achievements of its top-performing students. The vast majority of students receive little attention unless they are already excelling. The disparity in treatment is difficult to ignore. Sections offering Sanskrit seem to consistently receive more experienced senior teachers, while Tamil sections are left with fewer advantages. Brahmin students also appear to receive disproportionate opportunities and visibility compared to others. The school's enthusiasm for politics is equally noteworthy. Students were reportedly required to attend classes on Bakrid and other days declared holidays by the state government, seemingly because administrative ego mattered more than respecting official decisions or student welfare. The annual day theme of 2024 was celebrating the Rama temple in Ayodhya- a religious institution built with the money of Muslim, Christian, Jain and Hindu civilians and taxpayers of all religions and communities. For a school that frequently promotes values, discipline, and inclusivity, it spends an impressive amount of time demonstrating the exact opposite.
