On the 17th of last month, a minor girl in Behala was allegedly gang r@pes into a car, given an intoxicating substance through chocolate. The accused allegedly recorded the incident and blackmailed her for a month. The matter came to light after the victim informed her family. Despite the seriousness of the case, it reportedly received little to no media coverage. Reports now suggest that pressure is allegedly being exerted by BJP on the victim's family to withdraw the complaint.

Now that the government has changed, women's rape is no longer treated as a major issue. People seemingly no longer demand justice for these crimes, allowing things to just happen as they will without any accountability or protests. Even today, on the 6th of June, not a single line has been written in any leading newspaper, nor has a single word been spent on this by any news channel.
