Chronic Air Pollution of Delhi

Every November, a fresh wave of "experts" appears with elaborate solutions to Delhi's chronic air pollution. By March, both the experts and their promises seem to disappear, while the pollution leaves behind damaged lungs, especially among our children and the elderly.

As we aspire to become a $5 trillion economy, we cannot ignore the enormous human and economic cost of toxic air. Year after year, political blame games dominate the headlines, but the problem remains.

Many developed countries once faced severe air pollution and significantly improved air quality through sustained policies, strict enforcement, cleaner energy, better public transport, industrial emission controls, and coordinated action across all levels of government. Why can't we show the same long-term commitment instead of treating this as a seasonal crisis?

Delhi doesn't need another winter of debates. It needs year-round implementation, accountability, and cooperation that puts public health above politics.
