Providing free, high-quality, and intellectually enriching education is fundamentally the responsibility of the government.

Corporate institutions that care little about the nation’s welfare and focus primarily on business profits are exploiting people in the name of education. This trend is placing a severe financial burden, particularly on middle-class families. Instead of improving the performance and standards of government schools, today’s governments have often acted as supporters of the exploitation carried out by corporate educational institutions. Nearly 50 percent of the population belongs to SC, ST, and BC communities and benefits from reservation policies. When Economically Backward Classes (EBCs) are also included, the proportion exceeds 60 percent. The government channels substantial funds to corporate colleges under the Fee Reimbursement Scheme for these sections of society. The same funds could be used to establish and operate government-owned colleges, thereby expanding access to education for a much larger number of students.
