Consumers Are Not Given a Choice Between Pure Petrol and Ethanol-Blended Petrol
Many fuel stations now primarily supply ethanol-blended petrol, leaving consumers with little or no choice to purchase conventional petrol. Vehicle owners have different vehicle ages, engine technologies, and compatibility requirements. A nationwide fuel transition should not deprive consumers of choice without adequate alternatives.
Consumers should have the option to select between conventional petrol and ethanol-blended petrol based on manufacturer recommendations and personal preference. The government should ensure fuel stations clearly disclose blend percentages and maintain the availability of alternative fuel options where feasible.
