19 Year Old swimmer died in a pool in Kolkata

A 19 Year old Swimmer, Hrichik Chakraborty died on 22nd June 2026 while being present in a Swimming club in Kolkata (Chetla locality). Police reported there were possibly no malicious intent against him, but ignorance was an issue. The act he was performing needed at least a supervisor (reported in a leading Bengali newspaper). He was found unconscious under water, after few minutes and upon admitting to a hospital he was declared dead.
