The LG Polymers styrene gas leak of 7 May 2020 affected thousands of people, causing loss of lives, serious health impacts, and environmental damage. Even years later, survivors and affected families continue to raise concerns about long-term health monitoring, environmental restoration, accountability, and access to justice.

For nearly six years, the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) concerning this tragedy has remained pending in Andhra Pradesh high court. During this period, many affected victims, particularly those from poor and vulnerable communities, have passed away while waiting for meaningful relief and justice. Every delay increases the risk that more victims may die before their claims are heard and their rights are protected. Justice delayed can effectively become justice denied.
