1678 Serious mistakes found in the text books of Std-i to viii in odisha
The Odisha textbook controversy has intensified after 1,678 errors were found in 55 school textbooks for Classes I to VIII. The mistakes included factual errors, incorrect images, spelling mistakes, and misleading information. In response, the Odisha Government ordered a Crime Branch investigation and a high-level administrative inquiry. So far, 4 officials have been suspended and disciplinary action has been initiated against 6 others. However, the government has decided not to withdraw the already distributed textbooks. Instead, teachers have been instructed to explain the corrections in classrooms, while revised books are expected to be published from the 2027–28 academic session. The issue has sparked widespread criticism from parents, teachers, education experts, and opposition parties, who argue that students should not suffer due to failures in the textbook preparation and review process. Govt. is taking action against the officials but why is the Govt. taking the students education for Granted. Why is students have to wait for 1 academic year to get rid of the incorrect education.
