Evaluate the degrees that universities are offering.
Dear Hon’ble Education Minister,
This is my Bachelor’s degree in Film, Television & New Media Production from Mumbai University.
I chose a Mumbai University degree because I trusted that a public university would provide quality education. I could have gone to a private institute, but it would have cost me much more.
I spent three years earning this degree. But when I graduated, I felt lost. I honestly didn’t know what I had truly learned.
In my experience, there were no dedicated textbooks to build a strong foundation, very limited practical exposure, and I didn’t feel industry-ready after graduation.
The hardest part wasn’t studying. The hardest part started after graduation—realizing I had a degree, but still feeling incomplete as a filmmaker.
This isn’t just about me. It’s about every student who puts their trust, time, and family’s hard-earned money into higher education.
My request is simple: please evaluate the degrees that universities are offering. Don’t just approve a course on paper—ensure it actually teaches students the skills they’re promised.
Because students don’t just earn degrees.
They build their futures on them.”
