End Caste-Based Reservation

Caste-based reservation should be gradually ended and replaced with a merit-based system. While reservation played an important role in reducing historical discrimination and improving access to education and jobs, many believe that opportunities today should be based primarily on merit, talent, and hard work. Candidates from the open category often need much higher marks than candidates from reserved categories for the same seat, which many consider unfair. A merit-based system would ensure that every applicant competes under the same standards, regardless of caste. At the same time, the government should continue supporting economically weaker students through scholarships, financial aid, better schools, and skill development, irrespective of caste. This approach aims to promote equality of opportunity while rewarding ability and ensuring fairness for all citizens.
