No Woman Should Have to Calculate Her Safety Before Living Her Life

Every day, millions of women and girls make calculations that many men never have to think about. They think about which road is safer, whether it is safe to return home after dark, whether to share their live location, whether public transport is secure, and whether someone will help if something goes wrong.

The issue is not only about crime statistics. It is about freedom. When a woman has to constantly think about her safety before making ordinary decisions, her freedom is already being limited.

Parents worry when their daughters travel alone. Friends worry when someone does not answer a call late at night. Women often change their routes, schedules, clothing choices, and daily habits because of safety concerns. This should not be normal in a modern society.

Women's safety is not a women's issue alone. It is a national issue. A country cannot call itself truly developed if half its population lives with a level of caution that others do not. Every woman deserves the confidence to study, work, travel, dream, and live without fear.

The goal should not simply be reacting after tragedies occur. The goal should be creating a society where women feel safe, respected, protected, and empowered every single day.
